In the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there were some forms of protest in Greece about the NATO presence there. One of these included the wall of the base and a traffic circle nearby the base getting spray painted with “NATO KILLERS GO HOME.” The base wall graffiti was quickly washed away, but the traffic circle was not. Rather than be discouraged by the message, we decided to own it, and take pride in the “NATO KILLERS” label. This explains the words at the top of the patch. The skull design with the NATO symbol in the eye kept the theme of ‘NATO killers’ and the Greek flag is faded in the background.
